Notes To Parents about the Schedule -Current Schedule

NOTES TO PARENTS ON READING THE SCHEDULE

The purpose of this schedule is to provide our parents with a reasonably accurate indication of where their children will be each day. Occasionally, inclement weather may necessitate our providing an indoor program in place of previously planned activities. At times, an addition of a special event or a last-minute change in the availability of a planned activity, may also lead to a slight change in schedule. If there are any major changes prior to the opening of camp, we will notify you in the pre-camp mailing. Once camp begins, we will notify the children of any major changes.

BOWLING: Bowling trips to Gil Hodges and Maple Lanes are arranged through private bookings. This enables our children to learn and experience bowling in a specialized facility with complete safety and security.

MOVIES: The Kent Theater is a first-run theater featuring all the “in” shows that are released for children each summer. We privately lease the entire cinema and place the younger and older groups in separate theaters to ensure the movies are appropriate for the different ages and maturity levels.

PLEASE NOTE: All trips, admissions, materials, supplies prizes, activities, transportation, insurance, awards, camp shirts (2), tote bag (1) and special treats are fully included in the camp tuition!

SPECIALS: Each year, my experience has been that one or two of the specials that we are now working on will be added to the schedule for summer. We fully anticipate having different groups involved in new and innovative programs, as they become available. We will continue trying to schedule new and exciting trips and performances between now and the beginning of camp.

SWIMMING: The swimming pool will be used daily (except Trip or Special Event days) and will provide for a safe and secure Water Safety/Swimming/Recreational Program. We will establish swimming schedules once camp opens and, as in the past, we will use at least two (2) different pools to ensure appropriate levels of instruction for our younger and older campers. We ask that you send a swimsuit and a towel on all swim days. You may also send sun screen, a change of clothes or anything else you feel is necessary for your child’s happiness.

The Younger Division consists of ALL groups ages 4-8. Our Older Division consists of groups ages 9-14. The younger children will do the same things as the older children but at different times or on different days. This allows ALL of our youngsters to share similar experiences but at their appropriate performance level.

REMEMBER: Young People’s Day Camp has been successful since 1972. It is this experience, when coupled with professional planning and supervision, which ensures the safety and well being of your children.

On behalf of our staff, we look forward to the challenge of making this summer the most memorable one your child has ever experienced. A summer where you can go about your own routines with the peace of mind that comes from knowing your child is having a great time, learning, making friends and being well cared for.
