Week 3: July 12 - 16 2010

Dear Parents,

Week three has come to a close!

We’ve been keeping the kids busy and keeping them cool! We had our first trip the Bethpage State Park, and the kids had a great time! We had a little rain this week, but we got to have our first Karate instruction of the summer. We also had our Hula-Hoop contest and had a great trip to Adventureland- everyone had fun!

Next week, more sports, swimming, games and arts and crafts. Our Magic show has been postponed until Aug. 11th. We are rescheduling some of our trips as well, so we will let you know as soon as they are finalized! Do forget about our American Idol competition!!

Again, please give your campers extra drinks in their bags - it’s still very hot!

Week 2: July 5 - 9 2010

Dear Parents,

Well, our first two weeks have already come and gone - it’s going by so fast!

This week was a short week, and even though it was HOT, we certainly did a lot! We went bowling, swimming, and did some great arts & Crafts. Our lower camp went to “Pump it Up” and we had “All American” Lunch on Friday! Since it’s been extremely hot this summer, it’s a good idea to give your kids extra drinks in their bags!

Next week, more sports, swimming & games- plus our Hula-Hoop Contest, and of course, our Campers of the Week! We will be sending home permission slips for our trip to Adventureland scheduled for Thursday, July 15th – permission slips and money must be returned in order for your child to go on the trip!

Week 1: June 28 - July 2 2010

Dear Parents,

Summer is here! The counselors and I have been looking forward to meeting our new campers and welcoming back everyone from seasons past!

This summer we are happy to announce that we have a new camp site. Our new home-base is Whispering Pines in Old Westbury. It is located on 15 acres of land, including an indoor gym, air-conditioned classrooms and a playground.

This week we had our Suffolk YPDC inter-camp Competition with the older groups, which was great fun, did some arts & crafts and swam of course! In recognition of July 4th we had RED, WHITE & BLUE Day! Next week we’ll have our American Idol competition, Bowling and many other fun activities! We can’t wait!!
